PLAN OF DAY
NOAA SHIP HI'IALAKAI (R334)
Date: Sept 13, 2004 (Monday)
0900 - Underway from Honolulu Harbor enroute to leeward (west)
coast of Oahu for small boat/diver operations.
Morning operations: ~1000 to 1300. Launch 8M and 10M jet
boats and 19' Safe Boat with full complement and dive gear.
Boat Coxswains take boats approx. 2 miles from ship and
brief embarked personnel on safety and operations. Perform
dive evolutions. Eat lunch aboard small boats.
Afternoon Operations: ~1330 to 1630. Commence unconscious
diver training using 8M, 10M, Zodiac, and 19' Safe Boat.
Bring unconscious diver aboard and load into dive chamber.
Evening: ~1800/1900. Depart Oahu and Transit to French
Frigate Shoals to arrive early on 9/16.
Weather:
Monday. Partly cloudy. Scattered showers, then isolated
showers in the afternoon. Highs around 88. East winds 5 to
15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the late morning and
early afternoon, then decreasing to 5 to 15 mph late in the
afternoon. Chance of rain 40 percent.
